Rosa Pohjolainen – alpine skier
Rosa Pohjolainen was on skis for the first time already when she was only two years old. The whole family enjoyed alpine skiing, and Rosa's path took her to Hyvinkää Slalomseura Sukkula, which she still represents. Rosa competed in alpine skiing for the first time at the age of nine. She scored her first World Cup points in Levi in November 2020 after finishing 27th when she was 17 years old. At her best, Rosa has finished 14th in the Schladming slalom in January 2022, which is so far the highlight of her career.
Rosa Pohjolainen will spend the 2022/2023 winter season in Levi training and rehabilitating her knee, which got injured in April 2022. Rosa's goal this winter is to get her knee back in shape, that is, to rehabilitate it to normal. She also wants to improve her skiing and make her list of disciplines more versatile, and she also plans to invest in speed disciplines. Rosa describes herself as determined and she likes to train and ski, not too seriously, but with a relaxed attitude.
In Rosa's opinion, Levi is the best ski center in Finland, because it offers very good performance venues for slalom and giant slalom, there are many slopes and the ski season continues well into spring. Due to the challenging snow and glacier situation in Europe, Levi is a snow-sure place for alpine skiing enthusiasts.
