A love letter to Levi
Dear Levi,
Our story began in 1964 when my parents watched your first ski lift spin to life on the Northern Slopes. From the very beginning, we have both strived to be better each day. That's why you are Finland’s number-one ski resort, a proud Alpine Ski World Cup venue, and a beloved home away from home for world-class athletes as well as our children.
Over the past 60 years, you have set ambitious goals and embraced constant change – perhaps that's why so many innovative individuals and ideas have found their home with you. You attract people who want to reach higher and see further. With you, we've learned to trust the path when the direction is right.
As we celebrate your anniversary, we are particularly proud of the way you have embraced sustainability. You are a genuine role model, constantly striving to do more. We can always know that each day with you is a step towards a better tomorrow.
Because the future is written by the past, it follows that the upcoming ski season will be the best ever. And when the next generations celebrate new anniversaries with you, we know you will only get better with age. You are our All-Time Levi.

The History of Levi at 60
Although Levi's 60th anniversary celebrations will take place during the 2023-2024 season, Levi Fell and the village of Sirkka have been attracting winter tourists since the 1930s. During that time, tourists typically arrived from Kittilä by horse-drawn carriage to their home accommodations because there were no other lodging options, and there were no ski lifts on the fell, so the only way to reach the summit was by skiing. However, as early as the 1950s, Sirkka Tourist Lodge welcomed tourists from as far away as Canada and Japan.
One factor that defines the entire 60-year history of Levi is growth. Over time, it has required collaboration across the entire industry, care for customers, planning, and responsibility. However, continuous development has created a unique destination in Finnish Lapland. In this celebratory year, the entire fell is better than ever, in every season, and with confidence in the future.
