International Growth and an Extended Season
Levi Ski Resort has enjoyed a bustling Christmas season, with a 16% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous year.
From the start of the season to Epiphany, domestic visitors have grown by 6%, while international visitors have increased by 20%. Currently, international guests make up 37% of Levi Ski Resort's clientele.
Levi has also received significant international recognition: it has been awarded Finland’s Best Ski Resort at the World Ski Awards four times and highlighted in several international publications as one of the best ski resorts in Europe.
The revamped Leevilandia, designed especially for beginners and families, has been a major success this year. The area’s versatile services have received praise from both domestic and international guests.
- The Leevilandia area and Levi Ski School’s services are particularly popular among international visitors. It’s an excellent spot for skiing families, says Marko Mustonen, Levi Ski Resort’s Commercial Director.
The Levi Six chairlift, opened on Independence Day, has been the most anticipated addition of the season. It has proven to be a success, with visitor numbers now comparable to the popular South and West chairlifts. The Levi Six investment was made to meet the needs and feedback of domestic customers, providing a more comfortable and efficient lift experience on the southeastern slopes.
A Long Winter Season Ahead
Levi's winter season runs exceptionally long this year, continuing until May 18, 2025, when the Levi Six chairlift will operate for the last time. The spring highlights include school holiday weeks, the Ylläs-Levi Ski Hiihto (XC competition) in early April, Easter holidays, and numerous slope events and competitions that attract visitors to enjoy the spring sun.
- Spring sales are looking promising, but there is still good availability for accommodation. Visit Levi will participate in the Helsinki Travel Fair on January 17–19, 2025, where we’ll also showcase Levi’s diverse summer offerings, says Satu Pesonen, CEO of Visit Levi.
