Levi Ski Resort Named Finland's Best Ski Resort
Levi Ski Resort has claimed the title of Finland's Best Ski Resort for the fourth time in the prestigious World Ski Awards.
The 2024 winners were announced on November 11, marking the culmination of the 10th annual World Ski Awards gala. In addition to Levi, other nominees included Ruka, Pyhä, Salla, Ylläs, and Iso-Syöte.
"Winning this award is a testament to our long-term commitment to improving the resort. Our goal is to serve both local residents and domestic and international guests,” says Jouni Palosaari, CEO of Levi Ski Resort.
Levi Ski Resort has continued to make significant investments in developing the resort, with a total of €15 million invested last summer. Major projects include the Levi Six chairlift in the Northeast slopes, a new modern LED lighting system for the G.2 slope, the transition of Gondola Restaurant to geothermal heating, and the construction of a new slope-side restaurant at Levi West Point. The ski resort has also made improvements to Leevilandia, an area designed for families and beginners, with the addition of a new ski slope built over the summer. Accessibility to Leevilandia will improve as well, with a more frequent Ski Bus route serving the area during the winter season. Additionally, a new 400-space parking area has been constructed on the South Slopes over the summer.
"These investments not only enhance the skiing experience but also reduce the environmental impact of our operations,” adds Marko Mustonen, Commercial Director of Levi Ski Resort.
Additionally, Levi Ski Resort has formed a significant new partnership with Finnair. For the first time in the world, customers can use Avios points in Levi Ski Resort’s online store, making it even easier and more flexible to use Finnair Plus loyalty points. Customers can also accumulate Levi Black loyalty program points with purchases in the Levi Ski Resort online store.
The World Ski Awards are among the most respected in the industry, aimed at recognizing and advancing excellence in ski tourism worldwide. Since 2013, this annual awards gala has worked to raise industry standards by honoring the best operators in the field.
