levi ski resort supporting finnish snowboarding
Levi Ski Resort and Helsinki Snowboarders Association, Helsingin Lumilautailijat ry, have started co-operation. The aim of the co-operation is to promote Finnish snowboarding and, through club co-operation, to offer snowboarders of different levels diverse sports training opportunities in both winter and summer time.
Helsinki Snowboarders Association, Helsingin Lumilautailijat ry was founded in 2019. The aim of the club is to inspire people to snowboard and support their members according to their own needs and to achieve their goals in the field of snowboarding. The board of the
club and the coaches include e.g. top Finnish snowboarders such as Eero Ettala and Peetu Piiroinen.
- As a good partner, Levi enables us a longer training period from October until
Mother's Day in May. Levi's long slopes, off-piste slopes and South Park offer more diverse training conditions than in the ski centers of Southern Finland. As a club, we also offer our members the opportunity to participate in the filming of snowboard videos, and with these in mind, Levi is able to build bigger jumps than can be done in the ski centers of Southern Finland, says Janne Lipsanen, Executive Director of the Helsinki Snowboarders Association.
Levi Ski Resort has four different levels of snow parks, which allow for a variety of training from beginners to professionals. The fifth park, the so-called summer park, will be built again next Midsummer next to the Levi Black slope, where, as last summer, Midnight Sun Rail Jam will be celebrated
- We have had our club activities year-round since the beginning and we want to support our members in all areas. We will have our summer camp in Levi immediately after Midsummer. In this case, in addition to the additional training, we will still be able to ride in the Park, which will no longer be possible in the south at that time of the year. I believe that for many members, summer Lapland is also a new experience, says Janne Lipsanen.
The club also supports the development of the ski resort
Levi Ski Resort actively supports many different
clubs, and correspondingly, the club's activities also benefit the development
of the ski resort's operations. The ski resort is constantly developing its
snow parks to meet the needs of skiers,
and the clubs are also contributing to this through feedback and development
wishes.
- The club activities of the Helsinki Snowboarders have got
off to a good start. They have a good thing going on and we want to support the activities of their
members as well as junior activities. We offer them great conditions and a long
ski season in Levi. We
also get good tips from them on how to develop the park conditions even better,
says Marko Mustonen, Commercial
Director of Levi Ski Resort.
