Alpine/Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding Skill Levels
What is your skill level? The ski school's skill levels allow you to determine your skill level and book a course or private lesson that is right for you.

GREEN – FIRST TIMER/BEGINNER
Downhill/Alpine Skiing
You have no previous skiing experience (Level 0 – Green), or you’ve tried skiing once or twice but don’t yet know how to make smooth turns or control your speed (Level 1 – Blue). At Level 0 – Green you will learn the basic skills of skiing and how to handle the equipment. You will practice: moving on flat terrain with skis, falling safely and getting up independently, sliding, stopping, and controlling speed on easy slopes, practicing basic turns. We'll learn slope safety rules and slope etiquette, and to use the beginner ski lift (e.g.magic carpet- and button lifts) safely. Training will be held on flat and easy parts of the slope, and beginner-friendly lifts.
Snowboarding
You are about to try snowboarding for the first time (Level 0 – Green), or you’ve tried it once or twice but don’t yet have control over smooth turns on both edges in easy slopes (Level 1 – Blue). At Level 0 – Green the focus is on learning the basic skills of snowboarding and gaining control of the board. You will practice: moving with the snowboard on flat terrain, falling safely and getting up independently, sliding on both toe and heel edges on gentle slopes, stopping and making basic turns in both directions. We'll learn slope safety rules and slope etiquette, and to use the beginner ski lift (e.g.magic carpet- and button lifts) safely. The learning environment includes flat areas, easy slopes, and beginner-friendly lifts.

BLUE – LOW INTERMEDIATE
Downhill/Alpine skiing
You can ski down gentle blue-level slopes using snowplough turns and stop in a controlled manner, and you are able to use a ski lift. At Level 1 – Blue, the goal is to build your confidence and develop a smoother, more controlled skiing style. You'll begin learning parallel skiing and gradually progress toward more challenging (red-level) slopes. You’ll also become familiar with using different types of ski lifts.
Snowboarding
You can snowboard on gentle blue-level slopes and make turns on both toe and heel edges with reasonable control. At Level 1 – Blue, the goal is to develop smoother turns and build confidence as a snowboarder. You’ll practice various turning techniques to improve your control and style, and gradually progress toward more challenging (red-level) slopes. You’ll also become familiar with using different types of ski lifts

RED – AVERAGE OR INTERMEDIATE
Downhill/Alpine Skiing
You can parallel ski in a controlled manner, but on steeper slopes you might feel insecure. Level 2 - Red We develop skiing techniques, edging and the ability to ski safely and in a controlled manner even on more demanding slopes. The goal is to become more skilled, balanced and confident skier on all types of slopes.
Snowboarding
You can snowboard in a controlled manner. On steeper slopes you might feel insecure and board doesn’t turn in the way you’d prefer. Level 2 - Red We develop turning technique, edging and the ability to snowboard safely and with confidence even on steeper, more demanding slopes and at higher speeds. The goal is to become a more skilled, balanced, and confident snowboarder across all types of slopes.

BLACK – ADVANCED OR EXPERT
Downhill/Alpine Skiing
You can ski smoothly all types of slopes in a controllable manner and with good speed. Level 3 - Black We train carving turning technigues, more dynamic and sportier way of skiing on wider variety of slopes and snow conditions. According to the participant’ preferences, we can learn different slope tricks and get a taste of freestyle skiing in park terrain. The goal is to develop into a versatile skier and expand your skiing skills and knowledge.
Snowboarding
You can snowboard smoothly all types of slopes in a controllable manner and with good speed. Level 3 - Black We train e.g. carving turns and more dynamic and sportier way of snowboarding on wider variety of slopes and snow conditions. According to the participant’ preferences, we can learn different slope tricks and get a taste of freestyle riding in park terrain. The goal is to develop into a versatile snowboarder and to expand your snowboarding skills and knowledge.
