Arctic Sauna World
There are four different saunas in Arctic Sauna World, and each sauna has its own kind of steam and atmosphere, and in the sauna world there is also an ice hole where you can take a dip! During the winter season, Arctic sauna world is open daily.
Arctic Sauna World is part of Harriniva Hotels & Safaris' Jeris Lakeside Resort and you can find us on the shore of Jerisjärvi next to Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, about 42 kilometers from Levi in the direction of Muonio.
We named four of our saunas after Finnish folklore gods: Tapio, Ukko, Ilmatar and Vellamo. Each god ruled over the element their sauna represents: earth, fire, wind and water. On the shore of lake Jerisjärvi, the four elements come together to form a fifth element, a steam (“löyly”).
Sauna world is not only for physical and mental wellbeing, but for everyone to discover their preferred way of enjoying the sauna culture Finn people love so much. In Finland, sauna is often a pleasant social event, where people openly discuss the profound things in life.
You can cool off between baths in lake Jerisjärvi all year round. In summer, you’ll stroll to the water on a sandy beach, and in winter, we have a hole in the ice for first-time dippers and experienced winter swimmers. Bathing in a sauna and winter swimming are claimed to have several positive health effects.
Saunas are mixed saunas, and you are required to wear a bathing suit. There are separate dressing rooms for men and women.
Please be in time! You can spend for 2-2,5h at a time in the sauna world, please check the times from your ticket.
You can buy beverages from the Arctic Sauna World. Please note, that it is not allowed to bring own alcoholic beverages.
When there is a private event in the Sauna World Restaurant, you can check in at the ticket selling point outside on the left side of the restaurant building.
